Control rooms of all sizes will benefit by the addition of Merlin alarm receiving software. Merlin is capable of
receiving alarms from legacy systems such as Dialers to the latest video verification alarms transmitted by
Verified Alarms.
Merlin is available in two formats, Merlin PNP and Merlin Enterprise.
Merlin PNP
Merlin PNP comes with a special Initsys router called iRelay. MerlinPNP and iRelay are designed for alarm
receiving centres that already have a Windows based alarm receiving software system.
Merlin PNP is a Windows DLL that can be called by the existing central station software package to give
advanced IP based services. This includes alarm receipt, CCTV and Audio. The alarm data is presented to the
alarm receiving centre through the iRelay router in an industry standard format.
It is the existing software that uses Window's techniques to bring the MerlinPNP program to the designated
operator's screen. Once MerlinPNP is on the operators screen it communicates with
the network through the iRelay bringing images and audio to the operator from the remote device.
iRelay also protects the alarm receiving centre from the Internet as access to remote devices is only allowed
when there is an alarm in progress.

Merlin Enterprise
Merlin Enterprise is a full monitoring package for Alarm Receiving Centres that allows alarm, CCTV and audio
to be monitored by one operator. Merlin Enterprise ensures that there is no hopping between terminals
experienced with other not fully integrated systems. Merlin Enterprise is fully integrated to signals from
legacy systems, diallers, modems and similar devices. Merlin Enterprise is also the first software package that
can communicate directly with most IP cameras, alarms, NVR and DVR that comply with the published
standards. We believe there is simply no better way to handle security alarms than Merlin Enterprise.

Merlin is also ideally suited to a campus type environment. Here, in a campus, centralised alarm reporting
and video for guards is provided, but, with the option of remote backup should they not respond to a local
alarm within a set period. |
Used in conjunction with IAF you can distribute CCTV image recording around
the network so that you are not using available bandwidth unnecessarily.
Merlin also has the ability to rapidly call cameras to a central viewing location
simply on demand, just like a high speed virtual matrix. Cameras can also be
called to the operator view by alarm.
Several types of alarm can be
generated, categorised as urgent, for information and pre-event. Merlin is
designed with information presented in panels. This is ideal for the Microsoft
Windows Vista platform making an operators job easier and more efficient.
Merlin allows manager and administrators to set monitoring processes that
have to be followed by operators, these can be set and changed by templates
or per customer |
