FAQ
Where can I get training on the products?
We have a purpose built training room at our Head Office in Leicestershire, England or we can come to you. It depends on the type of equipment you are using as to how successful local training will be.
Where can I get technical manuals?
All the manuals are on the Initsys BBS, click on the link at the bottom of this page
Do Initsys operate in Hungary?
We have offices and agents in various parts of Europe and North America. Please contact us for further information.
Why are there different models of IAF?
The IAF's are capable of displaying and recording video from the suggested quantity of cameras, this quantity is directly related to the processing power of the IAF. The faster the IAF the more cameras it will display. Our models are designed to allow a system to be installed within a specified budget. It is worth remembering each IAF has exactly the same operating system and iRecord software.
Can I buy the equipment as a home user?
Yes, VerifiedAlarms is ideal for home security use.
Pre-configued, what does this mean?
The Initsys kits which include cameras and IAF's are programmed in the factory before despatch. Once the cameras and IAF are connected to a local network images will be displayed. Cameras are also pre-programmed to transmit images to VerifiedAlarms.
You will need to program motion detection to defined areas although we do configure a general overview. If you are new to IP the kits are an ideal way to get into this exciting development in the security surveillance.
What about if the cameras are going on a customers own network rather than a dedicated one?
Your customer should provide you with IP addresses for the cameras and IAF. Change the addresses before you actually go to install the system where possible. Remember to get the IP addresses, Subnet Mask and Gateway settings. If the cameras are to be accessed from outside the network (the internet) make sure the customer opens the ports on the router.
Can I use my existing broadband to access my home cameras?
Of course, any broadband is suitable. You will need a router rather than a ADSL modem to allow remote access to the cameras.
Can I use my existing broadband for alarm monitoring?
Yes, open the ports to the Z-Core or Alarm panel and communication will work.
Where can I have my system monitored?
This depends on where you live, most countries across Europe have connected monitoring stations , please contact us for further advice.
I have installed a system to Verified Alarms but each time the IP address at home changes I can no longer connect to the cameras from work?
Add some timed images from the cameras to Verified Alarms, set the cameras to send one picture every 5 minutes.
How can I work out what DiskPak I need?
You can download a Windows application which will work out the disk size required on the parameters you enter. Please log into the BBS to download.
